How to Become a Realtor in the Netherlands?
Real Estate Schools for Dutch speaking people
Anyone can become a realtor in the Netherlands, no matter where you come from or what language you speak. However, a lot of specific knowledge is needed to work as a realtor. There are official real estate courses, but to follow these, you must be fluent in Dutch. These courses are also long, expensive, and challenging. Expect about four years of study, costing around €10,000, and at least a bachelor’s degree level of education.
The advantage of completing an official real estate course (also known as ‘K-RMT’ or ‘KRMT’ course) is that you can register with a professional association like VBO, NVM, or VastgoedPro. Most realtors want this because it gives access to property databases, work files, legal support, networking opportunities, and a more professional image.
The solution
If you cannot do one of the official courses, there is now a solution: the Dutch Realtor Training course. With us, you can complete a real estate course in about one month in your own time, with no exams. Another big advantage is that after completing all lessons, you will receive an official certificate. With this certificate, you can register for free in the quality register for realtors. Remember that every registered realtor in the Netherlands must take a refresher course each year to keep their registration. A refresher course costs about €500 per year.
With a Dutch Realtor Training certificate, you can also work for real estate offices that are members of the VBO association. The best part is that if you have at least six months of proven work experience as a realtor in the Netherlands, you can even start your own VBO real estate office.
