A Real Rental Property Check-In in the Netherlands

In the video below, you’ll see a real check-in of a rental property with the letting agent. During a check-in, it’s important to carefully review and complete several key steps:

  • The rental agreement must be signed
  • The tenant must have paid the security deposit and the first month’s rent
  • The property must be in the agreed condition (clean, tidy, and with all included fixtures and fittings)
  • During the check-in, the agent takes many photos and videos that are added to the file
  • An inspection report is created noting any details or defects, meter readings, number of keys or access items provided, etc.
  • The tenant signs the inspection report
